Child safety standards

Peachy has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to, how to report a concern, and what we do when we receive one. It applies to every part of Peachy — conversations, the Feed, stories, events, communities and profiles — on every platform we ship.

Peachy is not for children

You must be at least 18 years old to use Peachy. This is stated in our Terms of Service, everyone confirms it when they create an account, and our Privacy Policy explains that we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Where we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it.

Peachy is for adults, and is not designed for, marketed to, or targeted at children or teens.

What is prohibited

The following are banned outright, and an account that engages in any of them is removed without warning:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in any form, whether photographic, drawn, animated or computer-generated.
• Sexualizing a minor in text, images, video or profile content, including in a private conversation.
• Grooming, solicitation, sextortion, or any attempt to arrange sexual contact with a minor.
• Trafficking a minor, or advertising, soliciting or facilitating any of the above.
• Using Peachy to link to, request, or distribute CSAE material hosted anywhere else.

How to report a concern

In the app. You can report a person or a specific piece of content from anywhere you can see it — from a profile, from a post in your Feed, from a story’s … menu while it plays, or from a conversation’s info screen. Anything else — something that isn’t on one of those screens, or a worry you can’t point at — you can tell us from You › Settings › Report a concern, without leaving the app. Reports come directly to us. When the concern involves a child, say so in the description; those reports are moved to the front of the queue.

By email. Write to childsafety@pchy.app, which reaches the person responsible for child safety at Peachy. You do not need a Peachy account to use it, and you do not need to be the person affected. If you would rather use our general address, support@pchy.app reaches the same team.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the United States you can also report to the NCMEC CyberTipline; elsewhere, to your national hotline or police.

What encryption means for this page

Every private conversation on Peachy — a direct message and a private group chat alike — is end-to-end encrypted, and our servers hold only ciphertext. That is worth stating here rather than only on the Privacy Policy, because it decides how the rules above are actually enforced. We cannot scan private conversations, and we do not have a system that tries. We have no key to them, so there is nothing to scan. What we can read, and do act on, is the rest of Peachy: Feed posts and comments, stories, profiles, a community’s name, description, topics and who belongs to it, and anything attached to any of those.

In a private conversation, a report is what brings the content to us. When you report from inside one, the app sends us that conversation so a person can review it — you are handing over your own copy, which is the only copy anybody can read. The rules above still apply there, and an account is still removed for breaking them; what changes is that we learn about it because somebody told us, not because we were watching. We think that is the right trade and we would rather you judged it knowing how it works.

What we do when we receive a report

• We review it. Reports naming a child safety concern are prioritized above all other moderation work.
• We remove the content and the account. Confirmed CSAE means immediate removal of the material and permanent termination of the account, along with any other account we can attribute to the same person.
• We report it to the authorities. Apparent child sexual abuse material is referred to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and to the relevant regional or national authority where we are required to report, in line with the law that applies to us.
• We preserve the evidence. We retain the relevant material and account records as the law requires so that an investigation is possible, even where the account has been deleted. Where the report came from a private conversation, what we can preserve is what the report carried, because that is what we can read.

Prevention

• Everyone is 18 or older. Everyone confirms they are 18 or older when they sign up, and a birthday under 18 is refused.
• You choose who sees your profile details. Each detail on a profile — birthday, age, city, interests — is shown only to the people its owner picks: their friends, their mutuals, or nobody. Everyone else sees a name, a photo, the pronouns its owner chose, if any, and, if its owner makes it public, About you.
• Blocking is available everywhere reporting is. A blocked person is hidden both ways: nothing they send or post reaches you, and nothing of yours reaches them. Everyone you have blocked is listed under You › Settings › Blocked accounts.
• Our acceptable use rules in the Terms of Service prohibit harassment and unlawful content, and we enforce them by removing accounts.

For regulators, authorities, platform partners and researchers, the designated point of contact for Peachy’s child safety practices and compliance is childsafety@pchy.app. We respond to lawful requests from law enforcement about child safety matters.

We review these standards as Peachy changes, and at least once a year. The date at the top is when this page last changed. See also the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Support.
