Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Peachy (“Peachy,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using Peachy, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use the service.

Who can use Peachy

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) and able to form a binding contract. You’re responsible for the phone number you sign up with and for keeping access to it secure.

Your account

Peachy uses your phone number to sign you in. Anyone with access to your number and the codes sent to it can access your account, so keep both secure. Tell us right away if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

You also choose a public @handle. Your handle identifies you to other people on Peachy and can be shared off Peachy — in a bio, on a card, in a link — and it appears on your public page at pchy.app/handle. You can change your handle, but only every so often: a handle that has been shared needs to keep working for a while.

You agree to use the name people call you in everyday life. That means an authentic name, not necessarily a legal one — a nickname or a chosen name you actually go by is fine. Impersonating another person, organization, or Peachy itself is prohibited. Handles that impersonate others or the product, or that are reserved, may be reclaimed — we do that by hand, usually after someone reports it.

The name you see beside someone else’s messages is not always the name they chose. If you have that person in your synced address book, Peachy shows you the name you saved for them, the way your phone does; otherwise it shows the name on their profile. So a name in Peachy is a label, and only your @handle is unique. Don’t treat either as proof of who someone is.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break the law or infringe anyone’s rights;
• harass, threaten, spam, or send unwanted messages to other people;
• upload malware, attempt to breach security, or disrupt the service;
• scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell the service except as the law allows.

Your content

You keep ownership of the messages and content you send. You grant us the limited permission we need to store, process, and deliver that content to the people you’re messaging, and to operate features like search and triage on your behalf. Those features send some of your content to an AI provider we use to run them — the Privacy Policy says which one, what goes, and what they may and may not do with it. You’re responsible for the content you send.

The service is provided “as is”

Peachy is early software and is offered on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind. We don’t promise the service will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, and features may change.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Peachy is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of the service.

Ending your use

You can stop using Peachy at any time by signing out. We may suspend or end access if you violate these terms or to protect the service or other people.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If we make material changes we’ll take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use Peachy after a change means you accept the updated terms.
